Miguel Stamati, MD

Dr. Miguel Stamati is a highly regarded psychiatrist. He practices at Awakenings KC in Prairie Village, KS, offering both in-person and virtual sessions.

He earned his medical degree from the National University of Córdoba and brings a comprehensive understanding of diverse mental health needs. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Stamati combines his clinical knowledge with a compassionate approach, focusing on tailored care that supports each patient’s mental and emotional well-being. His practice encourages personal growth and resilience through individualized treatment pathways.



Samantha Heather Russell, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Samantha Russell is a board-certified Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience in outpatient and inpatient psychiatric care. Dedicated to supporting individuals facing chronic and acute conditions, she takes an empathetic, patient-centered approach tailored to diverse needs. From providing acute psychiatric care for adults to leading behavioral health initiatives, she fosters a safe, nurturing environment for healing. Her blend of professional expertise and compassionate care enables her to guide patients and families through psychological and emotional challenges with warmth and understanding.




Suzanne Swain, MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC

Suzanne Swain, MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of behavioral healthcare experience. Her goal is to give each patient high quality healthcare through active listening and thoughtful questioning. She makes it a priority to educate her patients and their families on their mental health diagnosis and their treatment plan. She is committed to helping her patients every step of the way toward happy and healthy lives.




Amelia Hess, LPC

Amelia Hess is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor, practicing under licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Becky Milks. Amelia received her Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis in Mental Health from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2022 and has been in practice at Awakenings since January of 2023. She is accepting new clients. Amelia’s therapeutic interests include working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, stress management, and more. Amelia’s populations of interest include adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, and neurodivergent individuals. Amelia’s counseling style is a person-centered, interpersonal process approach which she supplements with evidence-based interventions from acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques.
