Seven Ways to Beat the Stress this Week
As winter comes to an end and the trees begin to bloom, everything seems a little easier. We are now provided with natural stress relievers and the ability to go finally go outside. As the week begins and the stresses start to run high you’ll find yourself needing a little break. Here are seven ways to beat the stress this week!
1. Go for a walk!
Kansas City is full of trails, gardens, and parks. Not to mention we are the City of Fountains! Grab a friend and enjoy the weather with a bit of excerise.
2. Spring cleaning.
Take the time you need to find your zen at home. This is the perfect time to hold a garage sale or give to charity. Not only will you feel better from having a clean space, but it’s rewarding to give.
3. Yoga in the Park
Kansas City is always offering events for all ages. Something that has caught my eye is KC’s Yoga in the Park movement. What could be cooler than getting together with a few hundred yogi’s on the front lawn of the Nelson to destress?
4. dinner with a close friend
If you are a social butterfly like me, sometimes one of the easiest ways to relax is to grab a midweek dinner with a close friend and hang out on a terrace or patio at one of your favorite spots. The human connection is unbeatable, not to mention who can pass up good food.
5. A new course
Spring is a time for firsts. In nature and our lives. Whether you are an athlete, an artist, or a mixture of both, trying a new course or joining a new team or group could be a great way to meet new friends. It also brings something to look forward to each week and helps remind us that we have lives outside of working!
6. Vacation
As I have previously stated, the events in Kansas City are endless, but going a few hours away could prove just as rewarding. Cities like Weston, Atcheson, Jamesport, and Eureka Springs bring us to a new place not far from home. Each has its own treasures to explore. Getting out and seeing a new place transcends many to a plesant mental state. It’s hard to stress when you are on vacation. Yes, only a weekend still counts.
7. Reward yourself.
Lastly, reward yourself. We are often so tough on ourselves, but so loving to others. Take time throughout the week to applaud your victories whether small or large. Remember to be empowered and strong, afterall no one does things quite like you do.
